The opportunity

Architus are partnering with one of the fastest growing Fintechs in Europe to help establish a significant presence in Lithuania. The company has almost 2000 employees globally, is profitable, and has $200m funding to accelerate its global expansion.

There is an opportunity for an experienced Python Backend Engineer, either with or without Machine Learning experience, to join a Machine Learning Engineering team and become part of the company’s Lithuania-based engineering group that already has 30+ employees and will grow significantly larger in 2023/24.

What you will be doing

You will be a key member of an agile Machine Learning engineering team, working on strategic projects for a rapidly expanding international company at the leading edge of banking technology.  As a Senior ML Engineer you'll be:

  • Creating and maintaining ML infrastructure to productionize ML models

  • Developing & deploying low latency and highly scalable dockerized microservices

  • Collaborating in cross-functional software/architecture design sessions to find the best solutions for the problems that we are facing

  • Working with Peer ML engineers and Data Scientists

  • Participating in an agile product team that delivers value iteratively

  • Building ML infrastructure to speed up develop & deploy cycle and monitoring of models in production

You’ll bring new ideas, and become an integral part of the process of continuously improving our product. Outside of working in your squad you will discuss technical challenges, in our different Communities of Practice.

Qualifications

Key qualifications outlined below will be used as a guideline, and candidates will be assessed on their overall strength.

 

It is essential to have:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience

  • Proven work experience as a Python Backend Developer (2+ years working with this as a primary language), including development of microservices using e. g. Flask, Django, etc. 

  • Experience integrating with or creating REST APIs

  • Experience with Git and Docker

  • Experience working in an agile team, dedicated to generating value in an iterative fashion

  • You have high development standards, especially for code quality, code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration and deployment

  • Fluent English speaker with excellent spoken and written communication skills

  • Resident of Lithuania, or with a work visa and in the process of applying for residency

It is not essential to have Machine Learning experience, but would be an advantage to have:

  • Experience working with machine learning models before and know about the challenges faced when putting these into production

  • Exposure to feature store , ML Observability and automated MLOps systems 

  • Experience in building data solutions, both batch processes and streaming applications 

  • Familiar with event-driven designs such as Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ, etc
